Case Study: Building an AI-Powered Intelligence Layer for Investment Operations

About Customer : Fireside Ventures

Fireside Ventures is a leading early-stage venture capital firm focused on building India's next generation of consumer brands. The firm manages ₹5,300 Cr in capital across 4 funds and 66+ brands, supported by a team focused on investing in and helping scale consumer businesses.

Business Needs

As Fireside's portfolio and investment operations grew, critical information became increasingly distributed across financial reports, business documents, operational data, databases, and multiple business tools.

Answering a single investment or portfolio question could require teams to search across multiple sources, review 10 to 12 documents or data points, validate information, and manually connect the findings.

This created a significant time and complexity challenge. A company-level question could take around 1 hour to answer, while cohort and fund-level analysis could take 2 to 3 days. Legal reviews and portfolio analysis also involved repetitive manual work.

Fireside needed a more intuitive way to bring together complex information, ask questions in natural language, and generate reliable insights without adding another layer of complexity to its existing workflows.

Our Solution

Think41 implemented a Claude-powered AI intelligence layer designed around Fireside's investment and portfolio operations.

The solution brings together 9 AI-powered workflows across portfolio intelligence, financial analysis, document analysis, benchmarking, dashboards, and information search. Through a unified AI experience, Fireside teams can ask questions in natural language, retrieve relevant information, analyze portfolio data, compare information across different contexts, review documents, and generate investment and operational insights.

Think41 also developed specialized workflows and integrations that connect Claude with Fireside's existing information environment, allowing the AI experience to work across multiple sources while maintaining relevant context and source grounding. The result is an AI-powered layer that helps Fireside move from manually searching and assembling information to interacting directly with its investment intelligence.

Business Impact

The implementation significantly reduced the time required to access and analyze critical investment information.

  1. Company-level Q&A became more than 98% faster, moving from approximately 2 hours to 2 minutes.

  2. Cohort-level analysis improved by approximately 99%, reducing turnaround time from as much as 2 days to around 10 minutes.

  3. Fund-level analysis saw a similar transformation, moving from approximately 4 days to 20 minutes, representing more than a 99% reduction in turnaround time.

  4. Dashboarding and portfolio analysis also moved from 2.5 to 5 days to approximately 15 to 25 minutes, reducing turnaround time by roughly 98% to 99%.

  5. Legal document review was reduced from around 15 minutes to approximately 2 minutes, an 87% reduction in review time.

The solution also increased the frequency at which portfolio information could be refreshed, moving from monthly to weekly, enabling teams to work with updated information up to 4 times more frequently.

The Outcome

Fireside moved from a fragmented, time-intensive research process to a Claude-powered investment intelligence experience that can deliver answers and analysis in minutes. By bringing complex information and recurring workflows into a single AI-powered experience, Think41 helped Fireside reduce manual research, accelerate analysis, and give its investment and portfolio teams faster access to the information they need to make informed decisions.

The solution was deployed into Fireside Ventures’ production environment and is actively used by its investment and portfolio teams for portfolio intelligence, financial analysis, document analysis, benchmarking, dashboards, and information search.

From days to minutes. From fragmented information to connected intelligence. From monthly refreshes to weekly insights.
